Jenö Glazer
Hungary
1908 - 1944
Eugen "Jenö" Glazer was born on August 8, 1908, in Szatmár, Hungary, to Adolf and Regina Glazer. He was one of five siblings: Sandor, Edward, Berte, and Sara.
In 1930, he married Erszabet (Spitz) in Nagyvárad, where their three sons — Gyuri, Sanyi, and Pista — were born. Their daughter, Shoshanah, was born later in Budapest in 1944. By profession, Jenö was a radio technician. The family relocated to Budapest in 1941.
During the war, he was forcibly conscripted into a Hungarian labor battalion. Although he managed to visit his family occasionally, he eventually disappeared without a trace.
Recent research through the International Tracing Service (ITS) in Bad Arolsen revealed that Jenö had been imprisoned at Dachau concentration camp, listed as prisoner #122649, and was later transferred to Natzweiler concentration camp in December 1944.
His fate remains unknown, but his memory endures as part of our family’s history and through our efforts to honor all those who were lost.
